Dior, already famous for its creative use of flowers in its shows (see here) has gone next level to create the most magnificent delphinium mountain in the middle of the Cour Carrée of the Lourve.

The show took place inside the structure where the models walked in front of a smaller but no less impressive hill of flowers. In total 400,000 stalks of blue Delphinium were installed by mega production company Bureau Betak.

I’m not going to lie – I’ve been missing Paris like crazy. I was due to return around now but life happened and it looks like I’ll be here in Sydney for a bit longer. I can’t complain, autumn has been beautiful and Sydney has been good to me. I’m working for a florist and a landscape designer both of whom I admire greatly and whose generosity in sharing their craft continually blows me away. I have a lot to learn and I am loving the process as well as the opportunity to do some projects of my own.  These lovely photographs of springtime in Paris from Carin Olsson’s blog Paris in Four Months will have to keep me sated for now.

This past weekend Kinfolk Magazine hosted flower potluck gatherings across the world to celebrate the northern hemisphere’s entry into spring. Despite our autumnal weather Sydney was lucky enough to be included with an event in Chippendale hosted by photographer and designer Luisa Brimble along with floral and botanical stylist Aleksandra Schutz.

Guests were asked to bring an armload of flowers or greenery whether from their backyard, their local florist or the side of the road. Here are the resulting pictures taken by Luisa Brimble for Broadsheet.

One of my all time favourites – whether it’s bare, with fruit, or flowering as it is here in spring at the old farm.
