I find myself back in Paris once again. Thus the lack of posts lately – my apologies – as I’ve been rather wifi-less of late. Our week in Paris at the end of June involved lots of summer fruits, flowers and food and sun.

We ate at Clamato, Bones, Le Verre Vole, saw an amazing Charles-Edouard Jeanneret exhibition at the Pompidou and spent the afternoon in the garden of the Chateau du Versailles. We wandered through the Parc de Belleville, the Jardin du Luxembourg, and bought some begonias at the Marché aux Fleurs. Then we left for a beautiful little farm in Italy – more on the farm to come.

Continuing on from Part I and my initial Paris post, here is Part Deux where we have an amazing vertical garden, a little trip to a friends place in Orleon, and some super cute kittens that I shared my room with.

I’ve written about Bloom Series before, so was chuffed to finally attend one of their events last week. It’s an evening filled with flowers run by floral stylist Jardine and photographer Lisa.

We started with champagne and nibbles before Jardine explained a little about each of the flowers from the the rainbow-esque display. We then got a demonstration on how to make a posy in her incredibly beautiful natural style.

It was great having so many different flowers to play with and I enjoyed giving a little bit of help to those around me. It was such a treat to make some new floral friends, namely Amy of Henry Hudson and John from Blooming Lovely, and the talented photographers Lisa and Pete from And a Day. I feel a little like the dorky new kid on the block, but am amazed by the warm welcome you have all given me.

At the end of the night I helped wrap all the bouquets and it was very interesting to see all the different interpretations presented to me. There were beautiful colour combinations and unusual designs. All of them had something special about them.

Check out the Bloom Series website to subscribe and check out more pics from the other events.

Bloom Series is a collaboration between between floral stylist Jardine Hansen and photographers Lisa and Pete. Together they host events where Jardine shares her flower knowledge with enthusiastic students, and all the beautiful floral creations are documented by Lisa and Pete. Check out some pics from previous events below. They’re hosting a posy making class on 19 January in Redfern, Sydney. For more details and to reserve a spot check out the website here.

I apologise for the lack of posting lately, but it’s because of good news! I have started an apprenticeship with a florist in Paris. A really good one at that! I cannot believe that my dream of working with plants and flowers in Paris has come true. I feel so incredibly happy. Along with the new job I have also moved into a new apartment which has kept me busy and away from my laptop. Hoping to get back into the rhythm starting now…

This past weekend we went to a friends place in the countryside a couple of hours south of Paris. We cooked yummy food, made a bonfire and just relaxed. As usual I spent a lot of time in the garden – picking flowers, cutting herbs for dinner and collecting walnuts to take back to town. It’s beautiful and calm and just what we needed.

Welcome to the mean streets of Osaka (not really, this feels like the safest place on earth). Everything seemed to be in bloom – I can only imagine what cherry blossom season is like – and most homes and shopfronts have a pile of pot plants out the front. There is a strong connection to nature here, even in super urban cities like Osaka.

This past weekend Kinfolk Magazine hosted flower potluck gatherings across the world to celebrate the northern hemisphere’s entry into spring. Despite our autumnal weather Sydney was lucky enough to be included with an event in Chippendale hosted by photographer and designer Luisa Brimble along with floral and botanical stylist Aleksandra Schutz.

Guests were asked to bring an armload of flowers or greenery whether from their backyard, their local florist or the side of the road. Here are the resulting pictures taken by Luisa Brimble for Broadsheet.
